Innovatives Management von Verbesserungsprozessen mittels Manufacturing 2.0 Technologien
Liebe Freunde und Kollegen,
In den vergangenen Jahren wurden in nahezu allen Industrien moderne IT-Systeme eingeführt, die die betriebswirtschaftlichen und produktionstechnischen Prozesse wirkungsvoll unterstützen.
Diese Systeme sind auf spezifische Aufgabenstellungen (wie zum Beispiel Produktdesign, Produktionsplanung, Produktionsmanagement) fokussiert und werden deshalb vorwiegend von den Spezialisten der jeweiligen Fachgebiete genutzt. Häufig stammen diese Systeme von unterschiedlichen Herstellern, haben verschiedene Bedien- und Funktionskonzepte und basieren auf unterschiedlichen IT- Technologien.
In unserer globalisierten Welt, in der sich die Rahmenbedingungen für die produzierenden Unternehmen schneller als je zuvor in der Geschichte verändern, wenden die Unternehmen zunehmend innovativere Formen der Zusammenarbeit an.
The SiLA (Standardization in Lab Automation) Luncheon at MipTec on Oct 14 in Basel was a full success ! All registered attendees visited our presentations and demos and gave us valuable feedbacks. Representatives of major suppliers, pharma/biotech and system integrators confirmed that the time is right for “SiLA Rapid Integration” and that they welcome the initiative.

die Welt in der wir leben verändert sich ständig. Das ist an sich nicht Neues und deshalb auch nichts Beunruhigendes. Was heute neu ist, ist die Geschwindigkeit, in der sich darmatische Entwicklungen und Veränderungen vollziehen.
Wer hätte es sich noch vor wenigen Wochen vorstellen können, dass die weltweiten Finanzsysteme am Rande des Abgrund stehen und nur durch astronomisch hohe Regierungsgarantien und Staatszuwendungen vor dem Zusammenbruch bewahrt werden können. Die Finanzkrise ist auch deshalb so schwierig zu bewältigen, weil es den Finanzexperten im Zeitalter der Globalisierung und der weltweiten Finanznetze offensichtlich unmöglich ist, die Folgen ihres Handeln zu begreifen.
On the 14th of October 2008 the Swiss Cluster Initiave Toolpoint presented the standardization initiative SiLA (Standardization in Lab Automation) at the 11th MipTec Conference (The Leading European Event for Drug Discovery) in Basel. Xavo is one of the SiLA initiators.
More than 40 people from the Pharmaceutical/Biotech industry, device suppliers and system integrators took part in the SiLA luncheon. The participants confirmed in unison, that the time is “overripe” for standardization and raised their hands to show their willingness to take part proactively in the SiLA process.
The first SiLA standard will be released and used in first customer projects by the end of 2009. More information at SiLA.

- Enable flexibility in selection of devices for integration
- Reduce efforts during replacement of a device
- Allow fast implementation of technological innovation
- Allow fast adaptation of hardware and software to new workflow requirements

Dear All,
I would like to recommend you “The World Is Flat: A Brief History of the Globalized World in the Twenty-First Century”, a book written by Thomas Friedman, a journalist and correspondent for The New York Times.
What Friedman means by “flat” is “connected”: the exponential technical advances of the digital revolution that have made it possible to do business, or almost anything else, instantaneously with billions of other people across the planet. Globalization 3.0, as he calls it, is not driven by major corporations or giant trade organizations, but by individuals: desktop freelancers and innovative startups all over the world (but especially in India and China) who can compete and win, not just for low-wage manufacturing and information labor but, increasingly, for the highest-end design, programming and engineering work as well.
