How much should I invest in the high availability of my ERP & MES systems”? Several of our customers and partners asked me this questions during the last weeks.
High Availability solutions in general allow you to keep your applications operating continuously. It’s done by providing both physically or virtually shared disk and shared memory systems.
In general, I would recommend high availability solutions both for ERP and MES. Of course, you have to put a lot of money on the table to get the high availability. If you are not willing to invest it both for your ERP and MES I would strongly recommend to implement it at least for your mission-critical production MES systems.
Seit der Gründung der Xavo AG im Jahre 2000 hat das Firmenlogo immer wieder polarisiert. Mal war es zu verspielt, mal zu schlecht lesbar - wir erinnern uns alle noch an Geschichten in denen Kunden glaubten, es mit einer Firma “XAV” zu tun zu haben 
Mit dem Wunsch, ein einfacheres, lesbareres Logo zu haben, kam die Idee eines “Sekundärlogos” auf, welches zusätzlich zum Original-Logo verwendet wurde. Aus diesem entstand dann vor zwei Jahren ein komplett neues Logo mit einem Signet (X-Circle genannt) welches bis heute unsere Firma vertreten hat.
Nun dürfen wir im Jahre 2010 - also punktlich zum 10. Geburtstag von Xavo - das neue Logo der Xavo Gruppe präsentieren, welches ganz und gar unsere Firmenphilosophie widerspiegelt: einfach muss es sein, aber einzigartig und schön!

Heute hatte ich eine Besprechung mit unserer Werbeagentur in der wir auf das Thema “Software die Spaß macht” zu sprechen kamen. Xavo hat es sich zur Aufgabe gemacht, IT-Systeme, die Menschen begeistern ins Produktions- und Forschungsumfeld zu bringen. Das ist häufig erklärungsbedürftig - was soll an Produktionssoftware bitte Spaß machen? Und warum?
Wird ein neues System eingeführt, spielen meist Dinge wie Budget, Abschreibung, Return of Investment, Effizienzsteigerung, Rationalisierung und ähnlich harte Aspekte eine Rolle. Nicht selten beobachten wir nach “erfolgreichen” Systemeinführungen - also wenn all diese Faktoren gut bewertet sind - ein Ausbleiben des nachhaltigen Erfolgs.

Xavo develops software that thousands of people use everyday. For the development of this software, many people are needed: Product developers, Engineers, Logistics specialists, Machine and Component operators, Scientists, Project leaders, among many others.
The Customers use our software, so their product is developed faster with the best quality. These are large challenges, which without motivated and engaging workers cannot be accomplished.
Our goal is, not only that the User is happy with our software, but also that the User is excited to use it. The moment of truth always comes when the User must use the new software. Then come the crucial questions:
- Does this software help or hinder me?
- Is this software exciting or frustrating?
When a User is frustrated, a downward spiral begins: first with the Workers, then the Teams, then the entire Company.
When the User is happy using the software, it can bring people together. A good software with happy Users also helps to speed up the improvement of the software.
But… what is the deciding factor between exciting or frustrating software??
A good software looks chic, is self-explanatory and is easy to use. It is fast, stable and adaptable. A good software brings the User to the goal with few mouse clicks. It is a friend of the User and the word „User Error” is not needed.
We at Xavo dicuss, argue and fight to create software that excites our Customers. Excitement is a positive energy, which spreads like fire. The person who has this „Excitement Fire” brings a different way of thinking, feeling, and handling of all aspects of the software. A positive, engaging motivation.
This excitement feels good to the User, the Team and the Company. Everyday something new!
Software that is dedicated to People.
