Uwe Schey (TabExpo 2011 - a great success)

Only a few days ago we showed Lab Collaboration the first time in public during the MipTec conference. The main question is always the same: “Why is this workflow management application better than others?” The answer is pretty simple: It is not just another workflow app, but also a real-time collaboration platform.

Out of the feedback from the MipTec 2009 and the ALA 2010 we designed an application which helps to improve your daily lab work. Our main ambition is to reduce the administrative work to the minimum while optimizing the monitoring and interaction scope through real-time collaboration, without any boundaries. You can define workflows and publish them as services you want to provide others. Everyone can use such services within their own workflows. By adopting the provider/consumer and request/order principle, complex workflows are easier to maintain and to observe.

Basically every action will be logged and transmitted in real-time. If you are about to consume a service (request), the service provider (supplier) gets notified immediately. Vice versa if the supplier has a problem, e.g. a faulty equipment, the associated workflow status will be changed. The logging allows you to trace the progress and history of workflows and projects.

Of course, this is only a brief excerpt of Lab Collaboration. If you missed us at MipTec, don’t hesitate to contact us for a live presentation and to check the use case brochure!

Yours truly,

Tobias Steffenhagen
