Am 21. und 22. Juni 2011 fanden bei Siemens in Genua wieder die Manufacturing Excellence Days für die Prozessindustrie statt. Mit insgesamt 230 Teilnehmern (Kunden, Partner, Siemens Vertreter) war die diesjährige Veranstaltung die bisher größte in dieser Reihe. Ich war die beiden Tage natürlich auch in Genua und habe mich über die vielfältigen Neuigkeiten aus den Bereichen MES, PLM und BI informieren lassen. Der erste Tag war vor allem den vielfältigen Neuigkeiten aus dem Produktbereich von Simatic IT gewidmet, während der zweite Tag geprägt war durch äußerst interessante Anwenderberichte aus den unterschiedlichsten Bereichen.
Hier ein kurzer Abriss der beiden Tage:
Tag 1:
- Vorstellung der Version 6.5 incl. der Möglichkeiten der “Factory in a box”
- Verknüpfung von PLM und MES über “General Recipe Management and Recipe Transformation”
- “Factory in a box” bietet nun auch die Möglichkeiten einer zentralisierten Installation speziell für kleinere Standorte
- Integration des neuen Workflow-Editors zur Erstellung der Business Workflows
- Manufacturing Intelligence mit der Simatic IT Intelligence Suite
- Integration des Simatic IT Portfolios mit SAP R/3 als sich ergänzende Plattformen
- Ausblick auf zukünftige Microsoft Strategien und Visionen
- Cloud Computing
- Social Computing incl. Natural User Interface
- Mobile Computing

Insgesamt gesehen war es eine hochkarätige Konferenz in einem wunderschönen Rahmen gespickt mit vielen Informationen. Diese konnten auch noch im Showroom mit vielen Life Demos vertieft werden.

Digital Factory 2011 in Hannover was primarily one thing for Xavo: the confirmation of ReFocus on Production™ and our products Xavo Plant Scheduling and Xavo Plant Book are going to be trend-setters for the next generation of manufacturing software.
We had to give over fifty presentations of our Plant Scheduling solution and nearly the same number for Plant Book. And our revolutionary approach to combine real-time scheduling with social media systems in the manufacturing world was totally confirmed by the visitors on our booth.

Xavo’s offerings in Hall 17 at Hannover Messe where simply unique. There was no other real-time scheduling solution which is totally integrated and so fast in optimizing production schedules. Everyone talked about social media but Xavo was able to present a concrete concept for the manufacturing world and even a working prototype.
The fair team of Xavo says “thank you” to all visitors and people who helped to make this event a total success for Xavo. In this way Digital Factory 2011 was the kick-off for our ReFocus on Production™ Tour on which Xavo will promote the concept and our products and services around it during the next months.

can you believe, that it has already been three years since Xavo made the move from manufacturing into the field of Drug Discovery. I was part of that move and I like to recap what we have learnt so far and share with you the trends that I see coming towards Drug Discovery. Drug Discovery has seen massive improvements in automation in the past years. The throughput has increased significantly, but software solutions couldn’t really keep up. The same situation was seen in the process industry decades ago, and since then, more or less standardized processes (e.g. logistical processes) have been established by the industry.
Digital Factory is the only trade show worldwide that brings together all the leading suppliers of IT for product development and production. Integrated industrial software solutions - in particular for production and product development - will top the agenda at Digital Factory.
In 2011 Xavo presents the newest developments in Plant Scheduling, PLM and LIMS on a dedicated 20sqm booth. A key topic is harmonic integration in the process landscape of our customers. A special topic will be “Xavo Plant Book” - a concept for bringing social media to production environments.

Xavo zeigt die neueste Version von Xavo Plant Scheduling auf dem 1. IT-Forum der Hochschule Hof.
Das IT-Forum Oberfranken 2011 findet am 10. März 2011 im Institut für Informationssysteme der Hochschule Hof statt. Die Veranstaltung gibt einen Überblick über die IT-Kompetenz in Oberfranken mit einem besonderen Fokus auf die Themen Internationalisierung und Prozessoptimierung.
Fachvorträge informieren die Teilnehmer über aktuelle Konzepte und Technologien. Anwendervorträge demonstrieren den erfolgreichen Einsatz dieser Konzepte und Technologien anhand typischer Beispiele aus einem betrieblichen Umfeld. Auch andere IT-Unternehmen der Region Oberfranken zeigen im Rahmen einer Ausstellung entsprechende Produkte und Dienstleistungen.
