After four successful days our Xavo Team returned, bearing a whole lot of highly interesting contacts. The demand for real-time scheduling is continuously growing; many conversations circled around its many benefits and respective deployment scenarios. Furthermore Xavo’s concept on harmonic planning was greatly appreciated.
We’d gladly like to extend out thanks to our many visitors and clients for their interest and the many conversations we had. The next TabExpo lies four years in the future but we’d be happy to see some familiar faces in 2012 at the Hannover fair already.
TabExpo 2011 has opened yesterday. Over 180 Exhibitors from five continents show the newest developments and trends in the tobacco industry. Xavo demonstrates the newest Version of Xavo Plant Scheduling and introduces a new concept for the perfect harmonization of all planning areas within a plant. We wish our team a great week, success and fun in the wonderful City of Prague.
Since 2003 Xavo is developing and maintaining the specification management system RaDIS for British American Tobacco Germany (BAT). The system has about 300 users in europe and supports them with their daily work in product development. In our newest success story we want to show you the history of the project and the reasons for the success of the application.

Vom 15.-18. November 2011 findet die TABEXPO, die Leitmesse der Tabakindustrie, in Prag statt.
Xavo tritt nunmehr bereits zum dritten Male als Aussteller bei der TABEXPO auf: Im Jahr 2003 präsentierten wir in Barcelona das weltweit erste MES für die Tabakindustrie. Wir sind dem Thema MES auch 2007 in Paris treu geblieben, wo Xavo “The Power of MES” vorgestellt hat.
Dreh- und Angelpunkt auf der TABEXPO 2011 ist unser in der Tabakindustrie erfolgreich eingesetztes Produkt Xavo Plant Scheduling. Unter dem Motto “Orchestrate your Assets. For the whole Plant.” präsentieren wir erstmalig einer breiten Öffentlichkeit, wie eine gesamte Tabakfabrik (von der Soßenküche, über die Tabakaufbereitung, die Filterherstellung bis hin zur Zigarettenherstellung und -verpackung) in synchronisierter Weise optimiert gesteuert werden kann.
Ermöglicht wird dieser innovative Ansatz durch das perfekte Zusammenspiel von Mensch und Maschine. Xavo Plant Scheduling verknüpft praxistaugliche Datenmodelle, schnelle Algorithmen und aussagekräftige GANTT Charts in besonderer Weise mit der Intelligenz der in der Fabrik tätigen Menschen.

Lassen Sie mich beispielhaft auf einen Aspekt eingehen:
In den meisten Tabakfabriken wird zum Beginn der Frühschicht ein bereits relativ guter Tagesplan erstellt. Dieser Plan wird aber im Tagesverlauf zusehens schlechter, infolge des Eintretens zahlreicher, kurzfristiger Änderungen.
Die Ursachen für solch kurzfristige Planänderungen sind vielfältig. Sie sind sowohl in der Komplexität der Fabrik (z.B. Maschinenbruch, Personalausfall, Nichtverfahrbarkeit von Material) als auch der Dynamik der Supply Chain begründet.
Hier setzt Xavo Plant Scheduling an: Es kann auf kurzfristige Änderungen einzelner Tagespläne effizient reagieren, indem schnell Lösungen gefunden werden, welche immer im Sinne der gesamten Fabrik optimiert werden.
